To compliment celebrating 53 years of the iconic BBC building, Clay Designs were asked to provide a Sqill coffee table to welcome and charm the greatest legends of the BBC while they express their farewells to the iconic television centre.
Clay Designs were approached to provide a table that would be as elegant and timeless as the stars that were to bestow their heartfelt memories and stories during this emotional farewell - Sqill was chosen to be the perfect centre piece. In addition, this is a table the public can adorn their homes with.
London’s Television Centre has been a hub of creativity from the moment it opened its doors on the 29th June 1960, to the moment it will close them on the 31 March 2013. Clay Designs and Sqill feel very honoured to be part of this world famous creativity and stand proud to what the BBC is recognised for the World over.
Former BBC chairman Michael Grade hosted a special studio celebration with a wealth of TV Centre luminaries which will be aired on BBC 4 at 20:30 on 22nd March 2013. Surrounding Sqill were, amongst others, Sir David Attenborough, Ronnie Corbett, Penelope Keith, Sir Michael Parkinson, Sir David Jason and Fiona Bruce to name a few. They each had their time in the BBC’s Studio One in front of a Sqill and studio audience, where they reminisced over their favourite Television Centre memories.
